Since Pontiac is dying next year, which will also wipe out all of Pontiac's gloriest finishes and performances in various racing events. Let us look back and discuss about one of Pontiac's strongest racing event. The Grand Am Prototype Racing.

The Race Circuit just not going to be the same with the absence of one make which dominated most of the events for the rolex and other Prototypes races.

Let's discuss about it.

While wasn't as strong recently(when Pontiac was in for the last), but I would also put NASCAR performance of Pontiacs in its past years into count too.

I hear the GP class G6 GXP cars are going to be replaced by Camaros. What is going to happen to the DP cars? Will they still use them as Pontiacs or are they not allowed to use the Pontiac name? I still can't believe this is happening.
I started watching Nascar when I saw Rusty Wallace racing in the early 90s. He was the man at the time. I was fun to see his Grand Prix at the front so many times. I never missed a race. Then, I started following Bobby Labonte. He had such drive back then and winning ways in his Pontiac but today he's lucky if he can find a ride. When I heard Pontiac was leaving Nascar, I was devistated. Now, if nothing else is on TV, I might tune in to a race, but the fun is not there anymore.
Especially, when a Toyota is running with them. :(

Yeah, bringing back Dodge into the NASCAR circuit at least was a great idea, but Toyota? NASCAR is meant to be ONLY for AMERICAN make. Having an import in the mix on that sport just degrades the whole thing and replacing the heritage-laden performance brand, well, more like kicking it out and replace it with a lame import is just......

Well, I too was a die hard NASCAR fan when Tony Stewart start racking many many victories in his orange Pontiac and Bobby Labonte, his team-mate actually crowned a champion in his green Pontiac, but, when Joe Gibbs gives up the brand that gave them all the success in place of Chevy, and the lack of support from the sponsors for the Pontiac chassis and the lame decision to drop Pontiac in place of Toyota just did it for me. I know Pontiac wasn't as successful in NASCAR as of late compared with their past, 50's and 60's when they dominated the circuits, Pontiac name alone have kept the sport going as it should. But ever since they drop the support for Pontiac, I lost interest of the sport immediately. My whole time watching TV on Sundays was the NASCAR race chanting and routing for Tony Stewart(with Pontiac), Bobby Labonte(with Pontiac), Johhny Benson, Ricky Craven, Mike Skinner, and Ken Schrader, but since none of them stayed with the Pontiac till the end, maybe just the exception of Johnny Benson who was kind enough to give the Pontiac an excellent 4th place finish on their last ever race(In fact, it was a Pontiac that gave him his only win in NASCAR), I lost interest of the whole sport and didn't even bother turning on the TV on the weekends.

So long Pontiac, you've been a great companion and we all thank you for your past contribution. Rest in Peace. You deserve it. :[KITT]:
